Prehistoric Shark found in Japan
known as "Chlamydoselachus anguineus"
The frilled shark, Chlamydoselachus anguineus, is a primitive shark species, of the family mydoselachidae in the order Hexanchiformes. Additional extinct types are known from fossil teeth; thought to be extinct itself, it was only discovered in Japanese waters in the 19th century. On January 23, 2007 a specimen was found alive off the coast of Japan near the Awashima Marine Park in Shizuoka, south of Tokyo. The shark was captured but died shortly afterwards
what they are saying here is
"This prehistoric shark found off the coast of Japan was found the day before yesterday. It is very similar to fossils found carbon-dated to 3.5 million years ago."
